Deciding on music/sound

Since the beginning, we knew we wanted the music for the time lapse sequence to be very electronic. We wanted it to sound very modern and edgy to help set the scene and to perk up the audiences interest.

After numerous searches online trying to find free music websites, Isaac was able to find a song on youtube which fit perfectly. The song is called "Smile" by the artist "The Crystal Method". However, we encountered legal problems due to the song being copyrighted.

Thankfully, Isaac was able to get into contact with the record company and they allowed us to use it because it was only for private student use.

For the second part of the opening (the 'morning routine' section with the quick succession shots), we required a more 'mainstream' and 'upbeat' sounding song. We chose a song called "Apunk" by the artists "Vampire Weekend". Initially, we were able to convince a local band to perform the song for us, leaving out the lyrics. This worked perfectly, but due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to use it in our production.

Luckily, we discovered we were able to use this song without any form of copyright infringement because, again, it was for student use.
